Session 1947-Feb-08

Date:Saturday, February 8, 1947
Location:New York City, Louis Armstrong All-Stars Carnegie Hall Concert
Band:Louis Armstrong and his Orchestra
Type:ANN/LR
Note:There are 2 versions of "Do You Know What It Means To Miss New Orleans": Per-Olov Alfredsson mentioned '...Only Swing House SWH 27 (I think!) has the complete version of "Do You Know What It Means To Miss New Orleans" from the February 8, 1947 Carnegie Hall concert. All other issues are edited: First part (Louis' singing)from a concert April 26, 1947, second part (Billie) from Feb. 8 concert. Swing House SWH 27 has the full unedited DYKWIMTMNO from Feb. 8. Many thanks to Theo Kuipers for the recording the extra long unedited version from the Swing House album. Email me for more news in this case. Kind regards.
